Various events through Irish will be organised by authorities throughout the country from 4th – 8th of March 2013.

This use of Irish will be an important display of support to the Irish language community north and south.

Some of the events are listed below:

 

Seachtain na Gaeilge in the Houses of the Oireachtas

5 March 2013 - Schools visit of the Houses of the Oireachtas  (organised by the Dáil Committee on the Environment, Culture and Gaeltacht)

School students to present in front of the Joint Committee and there will be a tour in Irish after

6 March 2013 - Leaders questions and order of business in Irish in the Dáil and Irish in the Seanad

7 March 2013 - Coffee morning (organised by Conradh na Gaeilge)

* 8 March 2013 – Tour of the Houses of the Oireachtas (organised by Bímis ag Siúil agus ag Caint)

 

Seachtain na Gaeilge in the Northern Ireland Assembly

4 March 2013 - Launch of Seachtain na Gaeilge

 

South Dublin County Council

1 March 2013 - Launch of Seachtain na Gaeilge in Clondalkin by the County Mayor

5 March 2013 - Launch of the County Council’s Irish language Scheme by the County Mayor

 

Kilkenny Borough Council 

11 March 2013 - Meeting of Kilkenny Borough Council in Irish

* 20 February 2013 – Launch of Bliain na Gaeilge – Pairc na Mara, Bóthar na Glasdroimmne, Áth na Long, Contae an Dúin

* 22 February 2013 – Launch of Bliain na Gaeilge - Teach na hÉigse, taobh le Halla an Bhaile i lár an Iúir, Contae an Dúin

* 27 February 2013 – Launch of Bliain na Gaeilge - Halla an Bhaile, An Pointe, Contae an Dúin

* 6 March 2013 – Launch of Bliain na Gaeilge -  Ionad an Phobail, An Chearnóg, Crois Mhic Lionnáin, Contae Ard Mhacha

 

Dublin City Council

* Lord Mayor, Naoise Ó Muirí,  will raise and promote Seachtain na Gaeilge during the meeting of the Council. He is looking forward to organising a coffee morning for the councillors also. Further information about other events…
