An Tionól Gaeltachta

Enjoy a long weekend in the Gaeltacht, with a wide range of activities as well as the chance to immerse yourself in the Irish language!

Conradh na Gaeilge organises An Tionól Gaeltachta in a different Gaeltacht on the first weekend in July every year, letting fluent speakers and learners of Irish alike enjoy activities by day, entertainment by night, and the beauty of the Gaeltacht, all through Irish.

For example, Irish speakers and learners alike headed on their holidays to the beautiful Dingle peninsula last summer, as Conradh na Gaeilge hosted their annual weekend away in the Kerry Gaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne from 05 – 08 July 2012. The destination and dates of Tionól 2013 are to be confirmed very soon – keep an eye out on this page!

Everyone coming to Conradh na Gaeilge’s Tionól Gaeltachta will have the chance to experience the place’s unique culture and beautiful Irish, whilst also improving on whatever cúpla focal they have themselves by chatting with both the locals and with the other people attending the Tionól!

There is a choice of  activites, such as guided tours, historical and nature walks, a seminar, night entertainment with a play and music sessions as well as extra local activities, for example golf, horse riding, fishing.

Conradh na Gaeilge offers a special low-price package to include bed & breakfast for the long weekend from Thursday – Sunday,  evening meals, tours of the area, seminar, play, music sessions and more.
